\"FaceThe museum is a registered charity. It is open because of the generosity of Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council who open it for us.<\/p>\n

Changes and improvements, as well as running costs, are funded through donations<\/a> from supporters and specific funding which museum trustees apply for. Current projects include digitising and transcribing some unique Owen letters in our collection, updating signage and interpretation in the museum, and working with the Town Council and the Sarah Brisco Trust to restore the wonderful Arts and Crafts building which houses the museum and the Council.<\/p>\n

The trustees and officers of the museum are unpaid volunteers who give their time and energy to preserve the memory of Robert Owen and increase awareness of his ideas today. We are looking for additional trustees and officers to help the museum on the next leg of its journey, so please contact us<\/a> if you wish to get involved.<\/p>\n

Many people from the Newtown area, and farther afield, have helped to keep the museum alive since it first opened in 1929, having been established as an organisation the previous year.. We are looking forward to celebrating Owen’s 250th birthday in 2021.<\/p>\n
